Pot-bellied pitcher
Dishwasher-safe porcelain.
Each object begins with an idea on paper, which is then transformed into a hand-crafted model. From there, a plaster mold is made for the reproduction. The fine liquid porcelain mixture is poured into the molds and then stretched by hand to make it thin. Each object is crafted individually, from the finishing touches to the application of handles or other details, from drilling to cutting. After drying, the object is placed in a kiln, slowly raising the temperature to 1265°C. The colors are obtained with pigments mixed directly into the mixture. This ancient and increasingly rare production technique creates a highly durable product.
