BROCCATI - Made in Italy, Sold in America

BROCCATI was born approximately six months ago, while my sister and I were reminiscing about our childhood. We have vivid memories of our mother and grandmother creating bespoke garments for us, using beautiful fabrics.

Both ladies were particularly fond of silk and this inspired our Business name. The Italian word “broccato” (brocade in English) means "embossed cloth". It mainly consists of an expensive material (often luxurious silk) decorated with elaborate raised patterns. By naming our company "Broccati", we wanted to honour the two most influential women in our life. Both people have always transmitted a deep love for Fashion to us.

They taught us that wearing the right clothes, shoes and accessories makes you feel beautiful, interesting and powerful...it makes you feel alive and brings you immense joy. These are the emotions we want our customers to feel when they shop on our platform. Broccati gives access to a wide range of hard to find items from the most elegant designers, at the best possible price.

We have partnered up with a company called "Squadded" to provide a social shopping tool that allows our customers to:

  • share their creative ideas, wishlists and must-haves with friends and loved ones;
  • get inspired by members of the Broccati's community;
  • interact with other users and ask for shopping advice.

My sister and I run our business, working alongside a brilliant team. It’s all about teamwork and we’re proud to have such wonderful people with us. Getting to where we are today has been quite a journey, but we all enjoyed the process. We work hard but also have fun together. We strive to make a difference and we want our clients to have an unforgettable experience.

Are you satisfied with the products' quality?

Yes, we are very satisfied and happy with the products' quality. Each piece speaks for itself, being characterized by timeless beauty. We fell in love not only with our collaborators' creations but also their stories. We value and support each person we collaborate with.

Was it easy to find producers for your platform?

We’re located in Virginia (USA) and because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we couldn’t travel to Italy physically (which would have been better for us, at the beginning). We had to overcome many obstacles: we couldn’t meet the producers in person, we couldn't see the products live and the time difference was a further challenge. We did a lot of research online and we were lucky to find you, VIAMADEINITALY.

Thanks to you, we discovered many of our existing Italian manufacturers and we are currently in talks with additional ones. The suppliers we selected on your platform are great and so is your customer service. We really appreciate your help. You made our life so much easier. We truly couldn't wish for a better partner.

Will you continue using VIAMADEINITALY and source your products online?

Yes, absolutely. We consider VIAMADEINITALY our official partner and we’ll definitely continue using you. We love dealing with your amazing team and your sourcing specialist Serena is always very helpful and kind.

Why did you choose to source in Italy?

When we decided to build our platform, we immediately thought of sourcing in your country. It was just natural…an obvious choice, like you wake up in the morning and have breakfast. Italy is the first place that comes to mind when you think of fashion, design and art.

Italians are famous all over the world for being creative designers and talented craftspeople: they combine unbeatable artisan skills with superior technical know-how. There is a high demand for Made in Italy products and many people living abroad have limited access to them. We aim to solve this problem.

We didn’t even think of sourcing from another country first, but now we are exploring other avenues as we wish to expand our offerings. There are many other beautiful places in the world and each one of them has its own distinctive trait and unique taste.
